A suspect has recently been arrested in connection to a series of six robberies in Woodland, according to an official press release from the Woodland Police Department.
Salvador Jimenez, 47, of Woodland was reportedly arrested on Tuesday, July 22 at 1:50 pm for the series of robberies that took place in Woodland since July 7. Jimenez was reportedly found by officers in the parking lot of 54 West Court Street and arrested without incident, and then booked into the Yolo County Jail for robbery.
According to Woodland PD, since Monday, July 7 there have been six robberies in the City of Woodland. Although the targets reportedly varied in the type of businesses, all were located within shopping centers, and most of the crimes were committed during the hours of 3 to 6 pm. The six incidents included:
- July 7: Razz Yogurt Shop, 353 W. Main St.
- July 10: Sally’s Beauty Supply, 1374 E. Main S
- July 14: College Drive-in Cleaners, 1309 College St
- July 16: Papa Murphy’s Pizza, 9 Main Street
- July 18: Jack in the Box, 1200 E. Main St
- July 19: Jimboy’s Tacos, 85 W. Court St
On Monday, July 21, Woodland PD had issued a description and photo of the male suspect they had been seeking, asking the public for assistance in identifying him. According to Woodland PD, the suspect appeared to be working alone, implied a gun was concealed under his shirt but never showed it, covered the lower part of his face, and left on a bicycle.
According to Woodland PD, thanks to the help of citizens and local media, detectives were able to obtain investigative leads that ultimately lead to the arrest of Jimenez.
