WATSONVILLE – A suspect who was already in jail for vandalism, has been re-booked for a bank robbery stemming from a separate incident.
34-year-old Luis Arredondo was first arrested on December 15th for using a metal pipe to break a car window. This occurred on Pacifica Boulevard in the city of Watsonville.
According to reports, four hours earlier, a suspect had also broken a window and gained entry into the Santa Cruz County Bank on Auto Center Drive, but got away empty-handed before officers arrived.
While Arredondo sat in custody for the vandalism offense, detectives reviewed surveillance film to confirm their hunch that it was Arredondo who had also broken the bank’s window. On December 27th the suspect confessed to both incidents.
