Burbank Police Arrest Man for Alleged Sexual Assault of a Minor

A man was recently arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a minor in Burbank.

According to a press release by the Burbank Police Department, officers responded to the area of Victory Boulevard and Alemeda Avenue on the afternoon of Friday, April 19, to investigate a reported assault.

The victim, a 13-year-old girl, told officers that an adult male had approached her while she was walking home from school, made inappropriate sexual comments, and grabbed her. The victim gave a description of the suspect and direction he was headed.

In the press release, Burbank police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Tyrone Del Mar, whom they located a short distance away.

Del Mar was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony sexual battery on a child. On April 23, the District Attorney’s Office filed a formal count of felony lewd acts on a minor under the age of 14 and one misdemeanor count of annoying a child.

Del Mar remains in custody on $100,000 bond.
