Vacaville Transient Booked for Assaulting man with Skateboard
VACAVILLE – Michael Lee Shipley, 36, was booked into Solano County Jail early Monday afternoon on one felony assault charge and ten misdemeanor charges.
Monday morning police were called to Alamo Creek under the Peabody Road overpass by a woman who said her boyfriend had been attacked.
Officers gathered information and evidence at the scene while Vacaville paramedics treated a bleeding head wound sustained by the victim, who was then airlifted to John Muir Medical Center for further treatment.
According to the woman, she and her boyfriend had been drinking with a small group of people, including the suspect, when the assailant began berating her. Her boyfriend then said something in an attempt to intervene when, according to the woman, the suspect hit her boyfriend on the head four to five times with a skateboard.
She said the assailant then left the ravine for the nearby bike path, and gave officers a description of the male and what he was wearing. He was located outside a store on Peabody road, identified as MichaelLee Shipley, and taken into custody on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
