Pair Arrested in Connection With Yolo County Thefts

WOODLAND – Woodland Police reported two men have been charged in connection with a dozen thefts around Yolo County and more than $100,000 in stolen property has been recovered.

According to Woodland Police Lieutenant Anthony Cucchi, two box trailers (containing a variety of tools and road signs) had been stolen from the Woodland Public Works Department at 655 N. Pioneer Avenue sometime over the weekend of June 22–June 24.

Apparently, the thieves cut through a fence, hitched up the trailers and drove off.

Personnel with the Yolo County Gang Task Force and the Yolo County Narcotics Enforcement Team conducted investigations into the Public Works burglaries in addition to many other recent Yolo County thefts.

Arrested in connection with these thefts were David McGuire, 29, of Woodland, and Calli Garcia, 30, a resident of unincorporated Yolo County. After taking the two suspects into custody, investigators were also able to recover the stolen Public Works Department property.

Thus far, investigators have determined they also recovered property associated with at least 12 other thefts in Woodland and Davis.

Charged with the possession of stolen property, McGuire and Garcia were booked into the Yolo County Jail.

Investigative work is ongoing. Anyone with information concerning the thefts is requested to call Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411. Callers can do so anonymously.
